So Tinas father falls in the lake and dies....

And the local police just decided "Eh we'll take you guys word for it, no need to search for the body and perform any autopsy! Who needs to give a guy a proper burial anyways?"

Are they freaking serious? They expect us to believe her dad just stayed at the bottom of the lake all those years? Just so he can conveniently pop up at the end and save her from Jason? That's terrible writing, people. No wonder they kept making sequels since the fans weren't the brightest.

I agree. Not only that, but his body wasn't even the slight bit decomposed either.

Yeah I've always found that part of the movie stupid and pointless

They didnt get Jason's body as well.

Jason drowned as a boy an no one retrieved the body. Then when Tommy locked him in that lake I am sure someone would have went to investigate something.

So I am not surprised about it in terms of movie lore.

Plus I always found it ridiculous that Jason would still be there by the events of that movie anyway. By the end of part 6 you've got Tommy, Megan, and all those kids witness to the fact Jason came back life and was chained at the bottom of the lake. Did the cops just not care to get the body?

...or the heard Jason's screams and see him go under then never found the body. Though Jason seemed human in 2-3 and somewhat in 4. Jason could have just washed ashore and when he was a child and then got lost in the woods. Mom kept the camp closed until me. Christie was going to open it up. Jason just hid in the woods and no one saw him because no one was at the camp. Then Jason saw his mom killing people and then saw his mom killed. Who knows it might have been the first time he seen his mom since the suspected drowning is when she was decapitated. I think ending of part 7 is stupid so I always assumed her dad really didn't jump out of the water at the end. She propabaly imagined it but she did managed to have the chain come back up and wrap around his neck to drag him under. She she thought she saw her dad do it.

To be honest the police/sheriff department of Crystal Lake are very inept along with their government. They are not good at retrieving bodies, not a very good search and rescue team, not keeping people out of the lake area and just closing it, not warning people to be careful except in the first one and second one, letting people move to the area or vacation, etc... they really should have built a quarantine zone for all around the lake. Also, all the murders are just stories or camp fire tales.. ha! Yet the murders happen over and over again. Either the locals and the police are really good about lying to say they are just tales and no murders really happened or they admit there were murders but done by different people. Crystal Lake then would have an amazing serial killer population. Though, 1-8 along with 9 were before internet so unless you were a kid paying attention to the news or going to library to look up legend of Jason then you would probably dismiss it was a story..

No in part one his body was never found he drowned but his body vanished in the lake an the police diddnt care to keep looking the mom simply went crazy from him drowning they heard him drown but after he went under they never found his body the legend in the films states jason came back to life in some unexplained way an grew up in the woods an saw his mom die that night after that he went even crazier an starting killing every person who entered the lake now the question is if he came back to life after he drowned why diddnt he come home you just have to assume jason being retarded couldnt find his way home an after his mom died there would be no reason to try to find a way home in jason goes to hell they hint his mom brought him back to life with the book of the dead from evil dead an in the comic freddy vs jason vs ash they explain it

Simpsons fans arent very smart either but for the film you are just supposed to assume the cops an every one else know jason is real an dont want to get into the lake

I used to watch these movies all the time when I was a kid but had completely forgotten about this ending until I watched it last night. So ridiculous that it totally works. It's like a homage to the ending of the first three when someone pops up and attacks the hero from behind. Except this time, it's Jason who is being attacked! Haha!
