Why does Michelle act so weird

Don't get me wrong. i loved the movie. The entire time watching I was thinking there so many movies shot today with 40 times the budget arent this well crafted or don't enrapture one nearly as much.

But what the heck is Michelle doin? Everytime she could hand the switch over and end the ordeal she goes psycho and says "Give me my bread", 10,000 Franks!!" (in the parking lot) What for? Harrison's already given her 10,000 Francs & then in the last scene she does that psycho stuff again. Ford already gave her 10,000 francs and she gave him half back & then the other half. What? This makes no sense. In the middle of the movie shes hard up for cash & trying mooch more money of Ford by saying 2000 US doesn't equal 10000 francs. And shes obviously not rich. To be consistent her character she should at least take Fords money to go by drugs.

Did it feel so weird b/c the studio demanded a different ending so she had to do that crazy thing @ the end? Someone help me understand !!

i really liked her character!

Couldn't agree more. Bonkers. Think she's just meant to be a oui bit crazy, unpredictable.

However, the scene with her dancing 'seductively' with Walker in 'The Touch of Class' nightclub is cinematic gold. What in the world is going on there? It's like a trip sequence or something, superb.

This is an old thread and comment but I couldn't agree more. Love that scene! It's so weird and surreal. And with the Grace Jones song playing in the background! I've watched this movie again and again and that scene is the one that I remember the most.

Also, I love Ford in this type of role. I prefer him in suspense thrillers. I've felt this way ever since I saw him in The Conversation. I'm not really feeling him in sci-fi and action films.

Everyday I write the book.

Both principal women in this film behave strangely, though this thread is not about Sondra. With Michelle, could some of her odd conduct be due to drugs?

Remember the scene in the toilet early on, when she insists Walker have some coke (I think) when he's trying to get information from her.

She's meant to be a fairly unstable, self-interested individual I think; but one willing to take chances and risks.

BTW I thought the dancing sequence was one of the weaker scenes in the film and dragged on interminably.

Cos she's French!

And yes, obviously crazy.

Character Michelle completely ruined (otherwise a fine) movie for me. I couldn't help but thinking of smashing her face into pieces, such an idiot bitch she was for the entire movie. My head is still aching.
