The single most unpleasant labor scene in history...

I get that childbirth is the second most painful thing on earth that happens to a human body but gawd, the faces she was making and how hysterical and angry she was. What an awful scene.

That's likely how it REALLY is! I hate how Hollywood *glamorizes* things like giving birth.
Some hard breathing, perspiring, a few growls, and there's a perfect rosy baby.

Nope. Its not like that for most mothers! Its pretty grisly, and NOT a pleasant thing to watch.
And from the friends I accompanied into the hospital, NOT a pleasant experience either.

Darcy was also young & had obviously felt it would 'feel different' than it did, from reading her pregnancy book.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

I am sure it is like that for some people but it is NOT like that for everyone (or, I should say, not everyone acts that way). My friend had a baby when she was 19 and she behaved nothing like this and she didn't scream or anything during labor. It was, of course, painful and brutal and all that but she didn't do anything remotely close to what the character in the movie did.

At any rate my point was not that it was or was not realistic, my point was merely how utterly unpleasant the scene was. Blech.

Kidney stones. A female doctor once told me that she had kids and had also had a kidney stone and she said the kidney stone was definitely worse. 

The most realistic imo!!
mother of one, who did not go back for more. :)

Looks true to life to me! There's plenty of labor videos on youtube nowadays to compare. Maybe now more expecting couples will be better prepared for what labor actually feels like. It's different for everyone.
