Mel

Since Mel was such an integral character in the film, it is a shame the horse(s) that played Mel didn't get any billing.

As almost 40 years have passed since the making of this film, it's pretty certain "Mel" isn't with us any more.

I really wish Shepherd had not included that last scene in the movie. Mel didn't deserve that fate after bringing everyone together and saving everyone. He really had me until that last scene. Now I'm not interested in ever seeing this film again. Bad taste in my mouth, as it were.
