What Happens At The End?

I watched this film last night and fell asleep near the end. I saw up to and including Cake bringing his fiancee to meet Babs and Ghost. It was a bit slow, so I don't wanna rent it, but I was enjoying it enough to be intrigued by the ending?

The reason why Gavin Grey ran off the field during half time is that he was embarrassed. Shortly after he was introduced (they were bringing on the 1956 championship team for a 25 year reunion), the crowd started to cheer wildly. Gavin stepped up and started to wave at the crowd -- then he noticed that the cheers were actually for the football team who had just started running out of the tunnel and onto the field. He ran off the field feeling like he had made a fool of himself for thinking that the crowd was cheering for him.

After Gavin makes his speech at the reunion, he makes it known that Babs was the best thing he's ever loved, and she gets all emotional and goes up on stage ans says "lets go home!" -Meaning that they are gonna get it on! What a great movie!

Baby # 5 on the way!

Seriously though, the Ghost needs to start wearing protection. Seemed like a lot of the movie revolved around his wife getting pregnant all the time!

Good movie all the way around. Just saw it on HBO. It did get a little slow near the end, but the ending scenes at the reunion and the way it ended were so emotional. Great payoff to this long journey of a movie.

a family of four from that era was not unusual, in fact it was sometimes more like the norm. birth control was not as reliable, the pill improved over time after it was first introduced and that scene at the beauty contest when he rushes her upstairs she sounds like they'd been using some barrier form, that she wasn't prepared for his sudden desire there
