After seeing the movie again recently. I've developed a new head canon, that "The Santa Clause" is a loose squeal to this film.
I think Joe Caruthers was the Santa that fell off Scott Calvin's roof and died and he transferred his "Santa powers" to Calvin.
Does anyone else think that?
No but it kinda fits.
