Gambit. Either the original with Michael Caine and Shirley Maclaine or the remake with Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz.

I know it's not a comedy but I'd recommend Matchstick Men, simply because it's another movie revolving around con artistry. Great film although the ending is a bit predictable.

Anything with Steve Martin, Richard Pryor, or Gene Wilder I think fall into this camp.

Really, most mid-80s to mid-90s comedies were made in this mold. From "Trading Places" to "3 Men and a Baby".

A good question would be, what was the last comedy with the same level of skill and light "feel good" tone?

City Slickers? Did any come after those?
