Any more movies like this?

Beautiful location and all-around good times?

Any suggestions?

You can try the original film from 1964 starring David Niven and Marlon Brando called "Bedtime Story". Hard to choose the better film as I've see "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" so many times, that I come away with somenthing new each time. The original film is in no way a lesser film, however opportunities to see it come along very infrequently, but worthwhile nonetheless.

If you spot the DVD anywhere, grab it as it is one of those little known back-catalogue titles that should have been a classic like "Some Like it Hot".

Another film very similar in story-line and location (Nice, Monarco) except with a female lead is a French film starring Audrey Tautou (Amélie) called "Hors de prix" (Priceless)(2006). A typically brilliant French farce, that will unfortunately be largely ignored by English-speaking audiences because they may have to inject some effort on their own part and read sub-titles, leading Hollywood to produce the usual second-rate re-make. Watch the original, and trust me, it's good. Good acting, script, locations and as an added bonus, Audrey Tautou looking stunning in every scene.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for your reply, sorry it took so long for me to respond. Speaking of subtitles, I've just come off of a Fellini binge.

Thanks again!

IMDB does not provide suggestions for similar films; it provides recommendations using several different methodologies which are dependent on a person's user profile and whether or not they're logged in. The recommendations are different for every IMDB user so there's no reason why any individual recommendation will be a film that is similar to the one being profiled. In this case 'zack128200' is asking for films which have "Beautiful location and all-around good times" - which is a perfectly reasonable question because Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was shot in France and there's nothing to say that any of the recommendations (s)he received were shot outside the U.S.

If you're going to call someone an idiot you should make sure you get your facts straight first to avoid looking like an idiot yourself. If people asking for similar films annoys you so much then why on earth are you bothering to read the post anyway, let alone writing a reply???

The days of making movies such as these is long over. Now all they rely on is special effects and loud explosions... Writing and effort is long past and people just accept it...

To Catch a Thief (1955)
Evil Under the Sun (1982)

Mamma Mia! (2008)

Definitely To Catch a Thief! One can never get enough of Grace Kelly.

Heartbreakers with Sigourney Weaver, Gene Hackman and Jennifer Love Hewitt

reply

I was going to suggest Heartbreakers, too. Basically the same movie, but with female con artists. However, Heartbreakers relied on gratuitous T&A in place of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' comedy.

Not quite in the glamorous con artist vein (though it definitely delights in misdirecting the audience), but "Clue" is another great 80s film that's incredibly clever and features some great performances and plenty of twists while being very funny. Every single actor (Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Martin Mull, Tim Curry, etc.) is masterful and the dialogue and slapstick gags are brilliant.

Mrs. Peacock: "Is there a little girl's room in the hall?"
Yvette: "Oui oui, Madame."
Mrs. Peacock: "No, I just wanna powder my nose."

A classic.

So many great lines in that film.

Mr. Green: "I'm a plant."
Ms. Scarlet: "I thought men like you were usually called a fruit."

Evangelist: "Your souls are in danger!"
Mrs. Peacock: "Our LIVES are in danger, ya Beatnik!"

Mrs. White: "I hated her--SO much--flames, flames on the side of my face . . . !"

Col. Mustard: "Is there anyone else in the house besides us?"
Wadsworth: "No."
Col. Mustard: "No, there is? Or no, there isn't?"
Wadsworth: "Yes."

And of course:
"Communism was just a red herring!"

There is no such thing as gratuitous nudity involving beautiful women, but there is no
nudity in this film. It’s in my library. I know it VERY well. If you mean that Jennifer Love Hewitt is Boobs and Butt PERSONIFIED, even when wearing a ‘tater sack, well then, to quite a title from another favorite movie of mine, The Girl Can’t Help It. And YOU need to get a hobby.

Yes, What About Bob has a similar sense of humour. Very good movie.
