Do you think Sgt. Al Pal was reprimanded?

“Why don’t you wake up and smell what you shovellin”.

Do you think Sgt. Al Powell was reprimanded for talking to a senior officer like he did? I’m thinking he probably was. We all know that Pal was right in what he said though. Dwayne T. Robinson was a complete arsehole after all. I can’t help thinking he would’ve got in some trouble for it though.

Do you not realize that Die Hard is a fictional story. No scene was ever filmed or even discussed about Sgt Al Pal after the events of this film

reply

You obviously missed the end credits scene where Dwayne started smoking a cigarette with his thumb and index finger and Al correctly deduced that he was in on it with Gruber the whole time (which is why DTR bungled everything so badly - it was intentional). It ends with Al shooting his gun yet again right into DTR's jerk face. Then he gets a life time supply of twinkies as a reward.

Ha☺️

reply

Well he does still have his job in the 2nd one.

reply

he was sent to chicago and forced to live next to steve urkel for the rest of time.

reply

Hahaha, you’re all very funny! Any sensible answers ?

reply

How is mine not sensible? He still has his job in the 2nd one. So therefore he didn't get in much trouble.

reply

Yes I know so it couldn’t have been that bad.

reply

There is a pretty wide swatch between reprimanded and fired. Most likely he would have been punished in some way, if even subtly-- passed up for promotion, given lesser assignments, and so on. Alternatively, I can see a scenario where Robinson is demoted or pushed into early retirement, so Powell's insubordination goes unpunished.

reply

This entire movie is a work of fiction. Nothing happened to Sgt Powell

Hence the speculation...

Well he still had a job after killing a kid with a toy gun, so I'm guessing getting mouthy with someone wouldn't matter much.

reply

And that kid was Urkel.

reply

When a kid points a gun at you you dont check if the gun has real bullets in it. Teach your children not to point guns at people.

reply

Considering his being a hero I think he would have been given a medal!!!

reply

Good point. I imagine him saving a crowd of bystanders from a gun-wielding terrorist, while live on TV no less, would put the pressure on the powers-that-be to make him a hero, and ignore his previous insubordination.

reply

Not to mention it would be some very good PR for the LAPD “Brave cop saves crowd from crazed gunman”. Also, in this day and age they’d be thrilled that a black cop shot a white criminal and not the other way around.

reply

Statistically white criminals are killed more frequently than black criminals by police.
