How did John not kill those 4 cops?
When he tossed the C-4 down the elevator shaft? There were four cops wounded on the front steps wouldn't the explosion have killed them?
shareIn movies like this cops are not people, they are expendable, like red shirt Starfleet officers. Civilian lives are the only ones that matter. But to tell you the truth i cant exactly remember the scene completely.
shareThe cops decide to enter the building, first 4 cops try to get through the front door and Eddie and Uli wound them so now they are lying wounded on the front steps, then the cops send in an armored vehicle but two terrorists on like the fourth floor or so hit it with a missile (I'm assuming they are dead), then Hans is about to have them hit it again but John (who is above the terrorists with the missile) throws a block of C-4 strapped to a computer down the elevator shaft and the blast kills the 2 terrorists with the missle and it looks like the blast goes through the building which surely would have fried those 4 cops who were wounded and fighting for their lives. Either the cops somehow survive (which is implausible) or they were already dead (which is unlikely considering we see them alive right before John throws the C-4).

I think you can. If it saves more people. Plus, he didnt know they were there right?
shareNot buying it, a movie like this would not have the hero be responsible for the deaths of 4 innocent people whether by accident or not. If it was by accident then that means our hero is an idiot.
Example: In Face/Off even though our hero has to go against the authorities throughout the film (because he looks like the villain), he never actually kills an innocent person, the worst he does is shoot a cop in the back of the leg which disables him (and keeps the cop from preventing him from completing his mission) but the cop is still alive and survived the film).
you say a movie like this wouldnt kill them, but then argue that it did kill them. Do you mean it was an oversight? Like they didnt realise they were killing them, it was just a call scene.
shareI'm saying it seems odd that a movie like this would have our hero just kill 4 innocent people and then just gloss over it like it's nothing which supports the assertion that they didn't die, but then on the other hand I don't see any scenario where those four cops could have survived so what's the answer here?

We never saw them being pulled from the battle field so that’s where my question comes from. And no a man like John would have nerve chalked them up to being “casualties of war” totally out of character for him
