In my opinion, this is the all time best action movie ever made. It stands the test of time and never gets old!!!! My pick for the #2 spot would be Predator.

While the action is splendid so much of the tension is generated by the excellent byplay between Gruber and McClane, demonstrating yet again that even action movies need characters and writing.

I don't know if it is the best action movie in my opinion but it is a fantastic action film all the same. All the sequels are inferior especially the second one.
