Lemmy puts things into perspective

Ever since the late nineties we have been bombarded with the VH1 formula, the drugs, the sex and Jimmy and Johnny weren't talking anymore.

Lemmy sums up that you should just enjoy the ride, not cry and complain about the label and the management and enjoy excess.

Lemmy is beyond cool. Megadeth was alright, the rest of the film sucked really bad.

You are SO wrong, Dave. TDoWC II was an excellent film that spotlighted the LA Metal scene, with the bands, the girls, and the "adults" that were determined to stomp it out. A great underground flick that I hope comes to DVD someday.

Lemmy always kicks ass, at whatever he does, he's a GOD. This film was okay, I would probably get it when it becomes a DVD.

I agree with you in terms of music, yes. Lemmy, Megadeth, and Ozzy (I may have forgotten someone) where the only people in it I like musically. I think having these three in there shows the contrast between REAL metal and the fluff metal that is featured throughout most of the movie.

Thought I dislike hair metal, I don't think the hair metal parts of the film sucked or anything. They were interesting and often hilarious.

"...as well as Chris Holmes just a drunk mess which is worth the price of the tape alone."

That was the only part I didn't find amusing. Sad and pathetic? Yes.

Other than that it was a scream. I kept wishing I could throw a lit match into Rikki Rockett's hair (among others).

i have to disagree. i hate hair metal more than most things in this world but damn, this is a fantastic movie. if you didn't know it was a real documentary, you might think it was a sequel to spinal tap. so so so ridiculous and comedy gold.

reply

exactly. this is the comment that summarizes the film.

There was a documentary made about Lemmy in 2010. Few of the bands from Western Civ Part II are still on the scene. But Lemmy is still thriving.
