How did the paper turn out?

I am not from Houston, but one of my favorite metal bands is. King's X were from the Houston area. They were ranked No. 83 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. They were signed to Megaforce Records in 1987 and released their first album "Out of the Silent Planet" in 1988. Early in their major label career the band secured opening slots on arena tours, including opening for AC/DC in 1991 and the Woodstock '94 festival. As of 2014 they continue to tour and perform live.

A lot of people thought the great metal bands came from Los Angeles or New York. But they came from all over. I am from the New York area. Coincidentally, I heard that King's X are very popular in New York. I am not sure why. Maybe it was because their first record label was based in New Jersey.

I know of two other Houston metal bands. Galactic Cowboys formed in 1989. And Atomic Opera formed in 1991.
