What is really weird about this movie, is that the two most popular -by far- "Hair-Bands" , Motley Crue and of course G n'R, do not participate in it.
Anyone knows why ?

Anyway, I recently saw Motley Crue on their "Carnival of Sins" tour, and boy did they kick ass! This kind of music is NOT dead, no matter how many horibble "NU-metal" bands there is around !

Ms. Spheeris, please make TDOWC part 4: Metal strikes back !

reply

Poison are in it, they went on to be pretty big, and still are.

reply

Poison were already big when the movie was filmed. They ain't so big now, though...

reply

They certainly aren't in the UK, I thought they still did good buiness stateside?

reply

THEY'RE STILL PACKING AMPITHEATERS.I JUST SAW THEM THE OTHER NIGHT WITH RATT.RATT WASN'T GREAT,BUT POISON WAS REALLY GOOD.THE PLACE WAS PACKED.EVEN THE LAWN WAS PRETTY MUCH FULL.PEOPLE CAN SAY WHAT THEY WANT ABOUT POISON,BUT THEY KNOW HOW TO PUT ON A GREAT SHOW.

reply

There is an extremely brief segment featuring Stephen Perkins and what looks like Perry Farrell next to him (although he says nothing in the movie). One could say they "made it".

The guy from Odin is probably cleaning pools today.

I Just saw this last night again for the first time in probably 10 years. Gotta love "Metal Month" on VH1. Yes, what is up w/ the guy from Odin. Has he killed himself yet or is he tapping beer @ your local sports bar?

reply

I saw it also on Vh1 and it has been a long time since I've seen it. It still rocks. It makes you wanna tease your hair and play kickass music!!!!!

After watching the (edited) movie on VH1 during Metal Month, I'd like to know what happened to the rest of them, not just the Odin guy (Randy, I think is his name... who was going to kill himself if he didn't "make it big"... and he didn't!!). Like what about the guy who dropped out of school after 7th grade? Or those who basically said, "I'm gonna make it... I don't have to worry about NOT making it."

I'd like to know what happened to the rest of the 'up-and-comers'. Is there a website that tells what happened to them all?

reply

I couldn't find Odin on wikipedia.

reply

That pretty much says it all.

Interview with Randy O from Odin in 2006. No Odin never made it, but Randy O didn't kill himself either.
