Will this ever be out on DVD?

Man, I really wish this flick was out on DVD.

Anyone ever heard if there's plans on a DVD release? or is this thing just going to stay where it is, buried in someone's closet on VHS and never to be seen of or heard from again?!

reply

i read today that an end of the year release is planned for the first one so maybe the other two will follow shortly.

hopefullyit comes out on dvd this films a masterpiece and the dv should have cool features like music videos frome each of the bands featured or something

reply

Last I heard Penelope Spheeris was/is having a lot of trouble licensing the music used in the film. I'd imagine Sharon Osbourne would be up there waving her arms around for an innordinate amount of money for Ozzy's appearance. She should be bloody happy, at least he's coherent!

reply

I didn't know there was a Part III! I figured it would be about rap, to be honest.

None of them are available through Netflix. Bummer.

reply

Maybe Penelope was/is also having trouble locating the interviewees (you know, those who never made it big)?

reply

Once in a while they'll show it on VH1 Classic or The Sundance Channel.

reply

My hopes is that the presence on VH1 lately is a sign that it will soon be on DVD.

By the way if anyone is in the LA area, PM me and I'll tell you of a place that actually rents it out on DVD.

I'm sure you'll have to beat them off with a stick.

reply

I'll definitely buy it if it ever comes out on DVD.

reply

What's a PM? Can you just post the name of the place in LA? I'm in Hollywood, but I'd drvie anywhere to rent this as Netflix doesn't have it.

reply

Yes in 2007

reply

Caught a bit of it very late on IFC last nite - superbly entertaining! Can't wait for the DVD

I caught it a while ago, on Sundance or IFC maybe & Tivo'd it. I've got a Humax model with a built-in DVD burner so I got mine that way! It took 2 discs, but at least there isn't any bleeps or editing, or commercials. I'd still buy a commercial release though, if they packed enough Extras in there.

reply

Me too.

Of course, if they release it on DVD or Blueray they'll have to have a "Where are they now?" documentary on the extras.
I'd pay good money to watch that.
