Red

First of all, incredible film, very moving and fantastic and dense imagery and themes running throughout.

I was just wondering, why do they where those complex red outfits in surgery? Just curious.

You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday.

cronenberg wanted something different than the standard surgical attire.

isn't it mandatory for any fabric used in any surgery to be white? as to see blood or pus or whatever.. i'm not sure. i don't know that for a fact.

i guess it doesn't really matter though. the movie is awesome and i think those red outfits are cool looking ;p

Actually, most of the time, OR scrubs are blue.

Or green because it's red's complimentary colour: if you look at red for a long time and focus on something else, you'll see the red object projected in green. By using green for operating theaters and clothing, this can be neutralized.
