I'm almost an hour into this 'comedy'

...and I haven't laughed, chuckled or smirked even once.

The make-up and special effects weren't half bad for an 80's flick, but the acting and overall dialogue (including JP's one-liners) were excruciatingly flat and immature.

Sorry to all you die-hard fans, but this waste of 86 minutes deserves the 1-star rating it was given on my Comcast menu.

I would hate to see what you give a good rating, because this is a great fun movie. Joe's lines are hilarious.

Yuh, that's what I said when it was over also. The director thought it was a tongue in cheek masterpiece, but it played it too serious too often to pull that off. Had it been JUST a zombie revenge movie with loads of gore, it would work.

But to throw in a love plot, a long back story for the machine/company, a terrible side kick, and loads of extra characters doesn't work when you have only a FEW scenes of comedy.

As you said, the effects were well done for the 80s, melting face girl was an amazing effect in my eyes. As was the dead animal resurrection. But beyond those 5 minutes of footage, it was pretty much garbage...

I can understand how a movie like this might not be for everyone. I grew up watching bad B movies for fun on weekends with one of my buddies. We'd basically go Mystery Science Theater on them (before we even knew about that show), and we grew to really love them.

Maybe before you sat down, you had the wrong mindset. For instance: the bad acting IS the joke. To give you an idea, my first laugh comes only a minute into the movie when the zombie thug in the passenger seat puts his terrible mask on and looks over at his partner (towards the camera). Then a few seconds later, when he delivers his "come on" lines in extremely corny fashion.

I think you're just taking it too seriously. Out of curiosity, have you seen Evil Dead 2 or Army Of Darkness? Did you think they were funny at all?

Exactly.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

You were expecting mature jokes in a cop/zombie comedy?

This is one of the best movies ever made. 80s B-grade can't be beat.

I wish people would pay more attention to what they're watching, because the fact that they're posting messages about a movie that hasn't even finished indicates that they aren't paying attention at all.

It's one of my 10's.
Rated 69 of the same titles.
Similar ratings for 40 of them.
Thinks another 15 are better.
Thinks 14 are worse.

Looks as though we have some similar tastes.
