My big, fat Blunder!!

I saw this movie when it was first on TV in 1988...I was 11 or 12. I loved it. Unfortunately, I was never able to find it anywhere...UNTIL about 4 or 5 years ago. I was sick with bronchitus and pneumonia and, as a result from coughing so much, wasn't able to sleep during the night. So when I found my movie at 4am I was smart and stuck a tape in the VCR and taped. Oh! So happy! Then, not too long ago, I did the unthinkable...I accidently taped over it. Now, I am sad again.

This movie is not Oscar-worthy, or to be taken seriously...it's just fun! Especially when you're 11 or 12 and it stars almost every teen star of the 80s (sans Kirk Cameron, dammit!). It was an amazing film back in my pre-pubescent days, and I long to see it again. :-)

Is this the movie in which the prom theme is "Paris in Puce"?
At the end when everyone is eating breakfast, doesn't Matthew Perry yell at Christina Applegate, "I wanna be a fireman!"?
Hilarious!
Thank god for IMDB, so I can actually find references to obscure childhood memories.

You can order this movie off of Ebay or Amazon.com....I was just like you.....taped over it and thought it was the end of the world. I FINALLY found it yesterday and ordered it. Happy hunting! Hope this helps!

Yay! Thank you so much. I figured since it was made-for-tv it wasn't available for rent or sale...I will check on Ebay now.

I remember seeing the previews for it, so I taped it, watched it a billion times, then a couple of years ago...... I taped over it....stupid me...TGFE (thank god for ebay)

I'm like you - saw it when I was 13 and loved it! Many years later (college) it came on cable and I tried to tape it but the ending got cut off! After much searching, I paid a hefty price for a VHS version on ebay. Then a few years ago I saw it on DVD on Amazon.com. I just had to get but I'll never get rid of the VHS! Brian Bloom was my first teenage crush and He's still DREAMY! (I just wish I had gotten the issue of Playgirl with him on the cover!)

I know your post is like 6 years old, but I have just watched the whole movie on youtube.

reply

Me too!
I saw it on TV and actually recorded it on first viewing, since I liked the actors in it.
Watched that tape until it basically fell apart.
Found it on Amazon a few years ago and now I have it for my nieces to watch.
