Great film, sadly forgotten

I remember this film well. I'm going to try getting hold of a dvd of it. It was a favourite of mine years ago like The Field.
Barnard Hughes is wonderful as Da and Martin Sheen is great in it too. A lovely, funny, touching film.

I saw it twice on Broadway, once with Barnard Hughes as Da and once with Brian Keith. Both were good but Hughes was a bit better.

Did you happen to catch the recent Irish Rep's production? (March/2015) There was something amiss. My wife and I are still puzzling over why we weren't satisfied with the production. The complicated truce between father and son was missing.

Been looking to buy this but it's really hard to find without paying a fortune

I'm not sure were in the world you are but I bought a copy of Da yesterday for a euro in a branch of CEX.It was a double DVD pack that included Along For The Ride on the flipside of the disk.Looking at the back of the box it was region 0 so will play anywhere. Otherwise I've seen copies of Da for 5 euro in Heatons.
