Song as Dex runs

Anyone know what song this is? I bought the soundtrack and unfortunately it wasn't on there!! It's played just after he's told by Elaine he's been poisoned and he runs off to Gail's place across town.

Yup - it's 'Don't Bang the Drum' by The Waterboys, from their superb album, 'This is the Sea'.

I think this choice of song was truly inspired, as I too sought out who performed it after watching DOA in 1988..and I discovered a sensational band led by the extremely talented and versatile Mike Scott.

It's really good. Apart from the songs that are heard, everything else is included - all the original music for the movie. I recommend getting a hold of a copy.

I thought that scene after he finds out he's going to die, running down the street was way more powerful and effective than in the 1950 version. You really felt what he must be going through.

It's very well placed song considering how Dex life just ended.
Been searching for this song a very long time.
