Other, perhaps more reasonable, charges?

Were there ever charges or allegations of something like reckless care of a child, child endangerment, etc? Seems like at the very least some of that happened here.

I'd think the tragedy in and of itself was enough punishment for these people.

Jeezus. It was a tragic accident and everyone wants to hang the woman.

give it a break, eh?

What reckless care?
What child endangerment?

Haven't you ever taken your children camping and sat around the campfire yarning after the kids were put to bed in their tent?

She wasn't a kid though, she was a helpless 9 week old baby.

Putting a baby in a tent with other children, in sight and in earshot, and with no discernable threat?

I camped in the exact same spot around a year before, never saw a dingo, never saw a sign warning about dingos, never saw a brochure about the campsite warning about dingos.

Do you know how many people would be charged with the things you suggested? Millions of people visit parks with their children and I'm sure quite a few of them could be brought up on some kind of charge concerning their care of their children-we sometimes hear of such things. I don't think a court system anywhere would want to constantly deal with prosecuting parents who visit a park and are doing something prosecutors would find fault with.

The fact remains she was finally acquited. Some people see a movie and want to pass judgement.

This woman must have suffered terribly and for the rest of her life. Her demeanor is not a crime, nor should she be judged by it.
