Love theme: Something borrowed: from Grusin?

Am I the only one who recognizes an uncredited recurring variation on Grusin's theme from 'On Golden Pond' throughout the film? All my limited research shows this "original" theme is by Paul Chihara.

I definitely noticed too... I came here to see if Grusin had written the score --as the main piano theme is suspiciously similar to the On Golden Pond main theme. The Delancey theme is a little more simple- no grace notes and such - but it's so similar in melody and harmony that a plagiarism suit could be easily won by Grusin.

My reason for being here now as well!

I just watched Crossing Delancey for the first time, and immediately recognized the piano theme as the same one from On Golden Pond. I have the sheet music and it is identical. I'm a professional pianist. I would like to contact Dave Grusin and ask him if he is aware that Paul Chihara stole his music.

Shameless , cheesy imitation . It really detracts from an otherwise very good movie. Luckily, it is used a couple of times within the movie… just enough to irk the hell out of me!!!
