Peter Riegert

I especially enjoyed the performance by Peter Riegert. I realized I had been seeing him for some time. I also liked him in another small film called "Local Hero" where Burt Lancaster sends him to a small town in Scotland to buy up all the land for a Houston oil company.

He was also good as a reluctant hitman for the Mafia in "Coldblooded" training Jason Priestley to be his replacement and as an actual person in "Barbarians at the Gate" about the corporate takeover of RJR Nabisco with James Garner.

Local Hero and Crossing Delancy are two of my most favorite flims. Riegert just happens to be in both of them. What I'd like to see is his performance in the stage production of "The Nerd" off Broadway years ago.

Not to mention 'Animal House'.

Hi people! I came to the boards to rememorate about this movie I loved and I wanted to share with you that I met Peter Riegert tonight! I saw King of the Corner in Lincoln, Nebraska. I believe he deserves an Oscar his acting is superb! Olease check this movie out when it comes near you, he is going on a small circuit doing the actual labor to talk in each presentation, do not miss the movie and seeing him in person! http://www.kingofthecornerfilm.com/ check it has a trailer, and the dates for some film festivals all over the USA he will be travelling for 8 months to promote this film. It is a grea film and needs to be spread mouth to mouth as they do not have a big company sponsoring them! you will not be dissapointed with this movie!

I just saw him tonight!

King of the Corner finally made it to my neck of the woods, and when I heard Peter Riegert himself was going to take questions following the movie, I figured I'd better get to that theater somehow.

It was a pleasure to hear such an articulate and intelligent man hold forth about film in general and about this new movie in particular. Of course Riegert has quite a background in theater, TV, and film, but he's also branched out into directing and writing. It was pretty apparent he was acquainted with the more depressing aspects of the acting business, such as taking a job to pay the rent and finding out what happens when your film doesn't get a distributor, but he was also incredibly inspiring.

Definitely see the movie (and, if possible, him), particularly if your life is going through a rough patch.

Just picked up on this. Thanks, sounds good. I love Crossing Delancey and Peter Riegert. Will get it.

I think he is among the most underrated actors in the industry. His acting style is so natural, it seems effortless.

I did really like him in Local Hero, which kind of remains his signature film role IMO. Seriously he didn't really have a lot to do or work with in this film. He filled a role yes, but was there any chemistry with Izzy? I didn't think so.

Very good. Agree.

He dated Bette Middler for a while.

He was so cute in this! I'd recently seen him in the first episode of Show Me A Hero, where he was almost unrecognizable behind an Amish-style beard and a big belly.

Riegert has been a favorite actor of mine since Local Hero. Always make sure I catch his work, on screen and Broadway.

Imagine my delight when a student of mine (I teach adult - ed) told me she knew him and would be happy to set up a dinner! Well, it was delightful and he was genuinely nice, very sweet, and sharing of great stories. An evening I will treasure always.

So glad you made this post!

I love Peter Riegert! And he was perfectly cast in this role -- a man who looks like he makes pickles, but also knows a second-rate writer when he sees one.
