how IMDb works

Well, this showed me that I was wrong on how IMDb functions. There are 5 different reviews. I had assumed that IMDb would specifically select one of the reviews which was the most descriptive and thus most useful for those of us who have no idea of what it's about. I realize that other people and I differ on our opinions on which films are good or not but I'd like to at least know something about the plot. Those reviews varied in their descriptiveness but IMDb gave us one saying only, "This video has heartfelt memories. It has a great cast and all the actors did a great job. I have been searching to buy this video. If anybody knows of where I can purchase, please e-mail me. I really want to add this to my collection." Fortunately the other reviews did tell me enough that I know it's worth watching while I eat supper but why did IMDb keep those off the main page?

They are running it on the THIS TV network. It was on at 8 tonight and repeated after, meaning it's still on right now.

Yes, that's why I asked alright. I had a nice supper but couldn't take anymore of the flick after that 1st 1/2 hour. Thanks for the info about the This Tv network. It had been just "channel 26.4" to me. Now I have a place online to look for info (besides IMDb). And, no, I realize that IMDb won't ever respond to one of these questions I occasionally ask (e.g. an old one on how IMDb culls messages, as that seems to be at random and not by age).

I never watch them but 1 & 2 have old, syndicated comedy reruns. 3 looks like it has more old syndicated shows plus maybe a long religious show. 6 looks like the names of new syndicated shows. Apparently we don't have a 5.

Oh, thanks for the info. As I only see a film's main page once before I watch the flick and sometimes a 2nd time to add comments, that hadn't occurred to me.

I've re-evaluated things from more info, and I no longer believe that. It sure appears to me that IMDb loads the front-page review according to the relative "useful"ness scores.
