Umm the nudity

Is it just me or is the nudity at the beginning of the film really unnecessary?

The film itself is generally harmless and has some nice attempts to teach morals for the whole family.
However the brief yet strong female breast nudity at the beginning really pushes it away from the younger audience.

And yet the film doesn't really go far on that area.
The closest thing is the handj0b scene at the basketball game and if it were toned down and had a little bit more over-acting, it would have fitted nicely for PG audience.

I don't know, I just felt it was a missed opportunity for a wider audience.
Not that it didn't succeed at the box office. Looks like it was very profitable.

And good bit with Samuel L. Jackson!
I didn't know he was in this and was very pleasantly surprised at his part.
It was relatively early stage for his stellar career.

lot of f words in this film, so much for harmless entertainment for the whole family.

Umm, maybe you are right.
I'm not always conscious of swearings.
Murphy's character was always polite so I must have overlooked the other characters dropping F bombs.

It was the 80s.... PG movies almost required a 'gratuitous breast shot'. It's odd to me - young women no longer seem to have any modesty, pop music if full of 'hooking up', but in movies we are suddenly embarrassed about the fact that women have breasts.

Yes...hard to find an 80s comedy, PG or R, without multiple gratuitous tit shots.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

Well I quite enjoyed the female nudity myself, being a red blooded male heterosexual and all that.

I'm not sure if this would make a nice family movie. There is the scene with the lovely ladies in bikinis. A lot of mothers will certainly not like it.

This isn't even close to being a movie for kids. If they removed every scene you made reference to it would still be a strong R rated film and shouldn't be viewed by children. I'm referring to the strong language and the many time the F-word is said openly in the film.

I guess they should have substituted some murder for the titties and cussing. Then it would be great for kids!

