Been bar tending 18 years and yes, part of the gig is to make people enjoy themselves. But when working in a busy place, the last thing you do is spend 5 minutes dancing around like a tool, flipping bottles, to make one drink. You keep doing that and I'll run around helping all those people at the bar. At the end of the night, my register, and my tip cup, will be 10 times what you have based on sheer volume alone.

Well said! In a busy bar a bartender would be devoured if he pulled that garbage. I can't even fathom what would happen if a bartender stopped pouring drinks and hopped up on the bar and started reciting some horrible poetry!

And I'm not complaining just to complain. Just pointing out that a real bartender would never do what Cruise does in this flick.

I don't think they did the dancing and throwing bottles act all night, they show them making drinks a lot.
