That's why the film, and the "bartending" fad of the late 80's was so ridiculous. How bizarre was it to see 100s of people watch 2 guys take 5 minutes to make a "clever" cocktail? People were retarded in the 1980s !?!

I also wonder how Tom Cruise's "last barman poet" speech was heard by the entire three-story bar with NO microphone. When Gina Gershon ordered an Orgasm, it took BOTH bartenders to make it and it took about four minutes with the dance and "moves". I bet there were a LOT of thirsty patrons in the Cell Block.

shareWhat about the customers standing in the top area? It would take 10 minutes to get down to the bar, and god knows how long to actually get your drink, then you would have to trudge all the way back up. By the time you were back up there your drink would be finished. What a sh*t bar.

What naive questions! Have any of you been to big NY clubs? There are bars upstairs, downstairs, in the back of the room, and cocktail waitresses selling pre-mixed drinks off of trays... I figured the guys were more entertainers and specialty drink promoters at the showboat center of the room bar.
