This movie was lame

The first time I watched this movie was about a year ago, im 32 yrs old now but as an adult this movie was just lame but I can see how this movie would scare me if I watched it when I was like 9 yrs old but honestly I've never heard of this movie until a year ago but I think Killer Klowns from outer space was much better than this movie even tho both movies were cheesy but atleast the clowns from killer klowns from outer space were scary looking.

You might've appreciated this film more if you were 20 to 25 years older. I thought the film was put together quite well myself. The character build up, the creepy clowns, the atmosphere, the score, it all fit together into a creepy, chiller film without all the gore. Too many horror films rely on gore to make them "scary". I prefer films to not be so gory but to play up on people's fears. I don't have a fear of clowns, but those clowns were pretty creepy to me. Kinda makes me think twice about them now...lol. 

And truth be told...generally, I chose to watch this film to see a very young Sam Rockwell in his debut film...certainly a lot different from his role 10 years later as, "Wild Bill" Wharton, in, The Green Mile, eh? Loved him in that film...it was a great film as a whole! 

Do you mean 20-25 years younger? Because I dont see how i would appreciate this movie more at the age of 52 lol

Nope...I meant what I said...older. Because if you had watched the film when it first came out in 89 and if you were in your late teens or late 20's then, you wouldn't have seen the type of films they put out now. You would only be most familiar with the older films from the 70's & 80's...which in turn...would've probably made you think differently about this film...you might have even liked it.

It's weird to see how age can change peoples' opinions about things. 

And the reason I compared films with age is because I've seen many younger people bash older films because they didn't grow up with them. They grew up with an entirely different style of films (more violence, gore, nudity & CGI) that make our older, simpler films seem boring, or lame, as you put it. But back then, a film like this was a whole lot better and a rather effective little horror film. I'm 55, and I probably enjoy a lot more of the older films than I do all the chaotic new films they're throwing out there.

And that was the reasoning of my first post. 
