Francis Coppola would do a good with this

i think Coppola (movie adapted the outsiders and rumble fish of SEHintons books)
would be a great choice to adapt both Chocolate War books. he really knows how to capture teens for movies IMO

i liked the movie in its own way and know that it would have been very long if it focused on other characters, but the movie should give more to the main seen characters. especially with the ending.
boys do more then cuss and think about boobs. the book (naturally) had a better use with "coming of age/embarrassing moments" for the boys. for the movie the boys seemed sort of bratty and ruled by seniors.

though the cast themselves did a great job acting and getting into the roles. its a shame so little of them were used and seen.
