I just realized how creepy Chucky looked in this film

Compared to the other Child's Play / Chucky related films, I would say that the original is when Chucky's appearance was at it's creepiest.

Most definitely. I think it's mostly due to the fact that he gradually looked more and more human as the movie progressed, which is something the sequels didn't follow up upon.

Well, that, and I also found out that an actual midget actor was used in various scenes throughout the film. Which explains a lot. It added an extra creep factor to Chucky's character. They didn't do that in any of the other films.

There's definitely a few scenes in Bride with small actors in suits – Chucky and Tiffany fighting with the shovels, Chucky freaking out and running around inside the grave. You'll notice that both of these scenes are filmed from above, to try and make it less obvious, I guess.

Yes, Chucky is way more creepier in this first film which is why I'll always love it. I enjoyed the remake which shocked me. I didn't expect to like it as much but I did. Yet this one will always remain way more frightening. I'm watching it now and just the opening scene reminded me how scary this one is. I mean there is a serial killer communicating with a young child through a toy. That's scary! I also like how young Andy is in this movie, which makes him way more innocent and the viewer wants to protect him. I felt he was just a little too old in the remake.

I haven't seen the remake yet. I'm not too optimistic either. I pretty much have zero faith in remakes. But I'll still probably check it out when I get a chance. But what I always liked about Andy, was simply the role and performance of Alex Vincent. For a kid actor, he delivered some pretty convincing scenes. Like for example, the scene when he cries in the mental hospital. That was so dang convincing. I mean, seriously, that kid should've won an award for that scene alone...lol. He seemed genuinely scared.

The original Child's Play will always be a classic.

I seem to remember hearing Don Mancini told Alex his mom died to get him to cry like that, could be wrong about that but i seem to remember him saying that in an interview.
