So how did they explain everything to the cops at the end?

Obviously the cops aren't gonna buy that a doll was to blame for everything like Mike's injured leg, the dead psychiatrist, Aunt Maggie, all the knife holes in the doors. Did Karen take all the blame? Did Andy?

I mean in child's play 2 all they say is that the cops was smart and denied everything but the mother backed her sons story about the doll and is under psychiatric care. Ok so they denied everything about the doll being alive, but who did they blame? Not Andy obviously because in the sequel he's just in an orphanage, if he took the blame i'd think he's be under psychiatric care as well and certainly not eligible to be put in foster care.

Karen being the one to take the blame doesn't make sense either, since she was at work at the time of Maggie's death, and wasn't anywhere near the mental institution when the psychiatrist got fried. I mean logically they'd have to assume Andy did everything, but then again as i said he's being put into foster care in the sequel which wouldn't be possible if he's supposedly murdered 3 or 4 people.

Thats what i love about these high school girls, i get older they stay the same age.

Yeah thats probably true, since in Bride Of Chucky at the start when the cops getting Chucky's body from evidence, the locker has a label that says unsolved on it. So i'd say you're right.

Exactly! That was my first thought. I mean, surely, regardless what happened, the police aren't going to believe that a killer doll was responsible for anything. Well, at least not part of the official report. But in the second film, Andy is taken away by social services and then placed into an adoptive family. So clearly, whatever happened was bad enough for Andy to have been taken away from his mother. And in the third film, there's a scene where teenage Andy says something about his mother receiving psychiatric care. So the whole Chucky ordeal must of mentally traumatized her.

I've always wondered this myself. I saw this as a young teenager and really didn't think about that till I was an adult. Can you imagine being the mother and trying to explain everything? Of course you'd want to stick up for your child but you'd risk looking nuts, yet the mother wouldn't have had time to think up a good lie either.

I think that's exactly what did happen.

Remember, thr mother was institutionalised in the sequel. I think she tried to explain that's what happened, and they thought she was insane.

Me too. I’m watching part 2 again now and feel bad for the mother. I’m sure she wants to protect her son but she has to “get better”

reply

Correct and the cops didn't back her up to save their jobs.
