shareHa I just watched both in a row, and Mason is definitely funnier than dangerfield, no contest. Even robert stack's lines have gone the distance and randy quaid kills as usual. The only thing good about the first one are Chevy Chase and Bill Murray,
I'd love to jump on the purist bandwagon but frankly Caddyshack 1 is the most tenuous of the two. It has worse continuity, and weaker jokes. Dangerfield is not, and has never been funny. The best thing he ever did was Natural Born Killers.
Man, this movie is a travesty. I like Dangerfield and Mason, but CS2 is absolutely absurd.
shareNot everything Rodney Dangerfield said or did was funny. However, it is of "my opinion" that RD put Caddyshack over the top. I have no idea what Harold Ramis was thinking when he thought CS2 would be successful. It has to be (my opinion of course) one of the worst comedy films ever made, and I like Harold Ramis's work. All they did was try to copy the first movie, with the exception of the stupid amusement park idea. What on earth we're they thinking?
