The altercation with the Mexican street vendor

Towards the end of the movie while walking in a Mexican street vending area, Buster tried to cheer Julie by getting a dress for her. When Julie ignored him, he followed her with the dress and expectedly, the vendor followed. Eventually, an argument between Buster and Julie ensued resulting in Buster slapping Julie. When Julie left, the vendor asked for the dress back and Buster threw it back at him while shoving him. The vendor then immediately asked two other vendors to help and the three of them grabbed him and took him away.

What do you think happened to Buster? Was he arrested and charged for attempted shoplifting and aggravated assault?

Well, obviously he was not incarcerated as later on that night he came home only to find out that his wife and daughter have left him.
