The Simpsons

I had never heard of this until last night, when i caught a bowdlerized version on late-night tv. I can only hope that it was so over-the-top as to be an intentional tongue-in-cheek parody.

ANYWAY, fans of the Simpsons probably know the Ranier Wolfcastle running gag of the renegade cop, McBain. Anyone know if it was an intentional homage, or a complete coincidence?

I think so. I recall in one episode they showed Wolfcastle as McBain taking on the evil Mendoza, complete with over the top killing and so-bad-its-good one liners.
However i never knew there's a "real" McBain, that is a movie like Bulletproof.
I was like: Wait a minute.. so McBain is real? And it's Gary Busey??! Awesome!

There's a Christopher Walken action flick that's actually called "McBain", too:

Well, there is an episode of "The Simpsons" where Mcbain is fighting off Commie-Nazis. No, not Commie-Mexi-Arabs like in "Bulletproof", but close!!

I think it's a complete coincidence!

Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.
