The dinner scene at the end was way over the top. I know Woods character was a coke addict, but the deal was pretty much done, and he kept going into the bathroom to do line after line. Made no sense at all. It was just a way for them to set up him blowing the deal. The rest of the movie was very realistic, but this part was not.
shareIf not, there would have been a happy ending and you know that wasn't going to happen.. But yea it was a little much. If I were his wife I would have gotten to him after the first bathroom visit.
shareLet me just come to "Lenny's" defense, cause I have lived a somewhat "Lenny" kinda portion of my life and you know when you're wired and the Maitre'd screwed your table over that you specifically greased the host for the "Player Table."
The Maitre 'd then disrespected Lenny and squeezed them into a very unappealing and plebeian table.
When you've got this preordained perfect scenario in your head and you're 'wired,' ...you know ,just to loosen you up and keep your motormouth yakking with all the confidence to close the deal.
Please believe me , I've lost all patience and lost my head cause he feels that he's been patronized by the restaurant and staff.
Everything hangs on this "One Great Idea" , his loyal wife and his potential deal that could possibly change his life.
You gotta understand with all the ludes and his sleep deprivation with the euphoria creates a chemical monster. Lenny is totally unstable and has severe mental health issues.
He''s manic, borderline personality on a self destruction path.
I've been there and please believe me , that little scene , as far fetched as it may come across.
Is very believable, and let me tell you I've seen and behaved worse in similar situations.
