do you think this movie could get a PG-13 rating today?

It was rated R when it came out but compared to some other R rated movies now it is pretty tame

reply

Doubt it. Some of the deaths are too graphic for PG13

reply

No way. It was clearly intended for an R. It would still get one today.

I don't apologize. I'm sorry, but that's how I am. - Homer Simpson

reply

*beep* no, EVERY single death had to be toned down and cut and edited to be shown on Sci-Fi channel, none of the deaths were in whole, except ironically for Eddie's, but the old man, Paul, George, Vicki, the woman on the floor in the movie theater, they all had to be edited just to get on Sci-Fi which deals in graphic horror movies. It would still be R today, and it would be the only GOOD R today.

reply

Paul's death still gives me nightmares today...that alone makes some of the R-rated movies today look like Disney films.

reply

I think it would still be rated-R if it was released today. It is pretty violent and has a couple sex references like the "ribbed" condom and the guy trying to put his hand in the girl's bra while she sleeps.

Burn, witch! Burn, witch! Burn! Burn! Burn!

I do not understand why The Blob on Syfy is edited violent wise when their own shows are extremely more violent in content.

reply

Because The ScyFy channel is completely lame. When it first started broadcasting, The Sci-Fi Channel was commercial free and the movies were unedited. You saw gore and nudity, and heard profanity. They ran classic sci-fi/horror movies, and contemporary movies.

ScyFy Channel is now garbage.

Definitely not OP lol. This would still get the R rating for sure!

Melted off arm with blood, old man melted in half, little boy melted in sewer, projectionist melted to ceiling, woman in car having the blob break out through her. Those moments alone would get this an easy R, and there are more moments as well.

It was R rated all the way even today. Your probably thinking it shoulden't be R rated cause it looks so fake by todays standard.
