How did this film only get an Academy Award Nomination for sound? Whitaker should have at least been nominated for his performance. Eastwood should have been recognized for Best Director too. At least the Academy has made up for it in recent years by awarding these two with Oscars for other projects, but still. I understand 1988 was a competitive year for acting, but come on, Forrest could have taken Tom Hank's slot for Big.
