Why was it Rated R?

Just curious.

I'm surprised no one has answered this...it is for language and on-screen drug use...if you love improvisation jazz, you will love this film

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe...

By today's standards it would be PG13.

reply

No, I think "motherf----r" is still an automatic R.

I know a spell that'll make you show your true form! Cave rat taught it to me.

reply

actually, words containing *beep* are not rated R unless it is used more than 2 times in the film.

reply

the word motherf-cker granted a woody allen film an R and it was used only once and is the ONLY profanity in the film. no drugs, nudity or violence either!

reply

Or only once if it is used in a sexual context.

Ladies and gentlemen...Mr.Conway Twitty

reply

Fuck appears multiple times in the movie and it's really just not a movie for kids. It is, however, Clint Eastwood's masterpiece.
