PAINFULL - LIKE NAILS ON A CHALKBOARD...

All I can say is " where was Simon". I got paid to see this @#%*.
I have to admit I do hate Jazz. I think that's what this was. Somewhere in there was an occasional melody. The facial and bodily contortions this guy does was just painfull to watch. My ears are still recovering from the sour notes I heard. I think they were notes? Some one get this guy some throat losenges. Bang the Gong and get him off stage. I do have to admit the back ground band was worth watching. They actually believed they were playing music. And some one out there likes this stuff, cause I heard an occasional applouse between sets. Humor, what humor? If I did not have to watch this, I would have changed the channel. Bamboo under my finger nails would have been more pleasurable. Sorry to the FANS, but DAMN.

Ah. And apparently, from your mere THREE posts you seem to be here only to talk about your job and troll. Do something useful. Become a musician, make some of the most critically acclaimed music of all time, get a huge cult following, perform for over 20 years, and then I'll take your comment under consideration.

OMG what a total freaking loser... That's just sad man. Such an ignorant post, it just proves that you haven't the slightest idea what real music is. Mr. Waits hits all those notes that regular people don't wanna hear. Mr. Regular, go home and listen to your easylistening pop.

reply

Rob Thomas is far too sophisticated for this guy...

You should be listening to great music like the amazing...James Blount!

May you be required to listen to your James Blount albums into eternity...

Hope you enjoy keeping him in business! We'll keep up with Waits--you should just stay off this board...

Gotta admit...I felt the same way when I first saw him performed on snl so many years ago....now...I'd give my left nug to hear it again...once I started watching this flick.... I couldnt stop.....thanx again Tomcat

The reason you don't dig it is because you think 'Simon' is a good judge of music. Or what they play on American Idol can be considered music.

reply

@ camjs2001 AGREED!

Its for fans, if ya dont like tom waits' music ya wont dig it

Guess that's why God made Justin Bieber...for little girls and you. For the rest of us, Big Time is an amazing experience.

This is not "Jazz". This is Tom Waits.

Champagne for my real friends
Real pain for my sham friends.

Seems like whoever paid you to watch Big Time should ask for their money back.

First time I really took notice of Tom Waits was hearing his soulful "take care of all of my children" to close out Martin Bell's incredible 1984 documentary Streetwise. A perfect ending for such a powerful, heart-wrenching and so very real film, but I'm sure the op would rather listen to ditzy little overproduced and polished up ditties.
