Nobody criticize Underage Sex.

A 30 years woman sex with a 13 years boy, why nobody criticize this plot?

If a 13 years girl become "big", and sex with a 30 years man, everyone will lose their minds.

reply

Because men are awesome.

reply

There is a double standard in society. People assume that young boys are sex crazed and horny and want sex with adult women, so it is viewed as acceptable if an adult woman has sex with an underage boy. It is assumed he wanted it or it is his fault. People assume girls are pure and innocent and don't want sex, so if an adult male has sex with an underage girl, it is considered abuse and assumed he manipulated and forced her.

reply

No shit.

reply

"assumed", "manipulated", "forced".

No, even movie clearly show it's the 13 years girl "want" sex with 30 years man, people still would lose their minds.

reply

yes it is quite correctly two different standards.
you could even say boys are the ones losing out not getting the protection they need as children , but you wont find any boys complaining about it, so the "double standard" remains.

Whenever men see a story about a boy losing his virginity early to an older woman , some say "lucky him"
but some like to get on their high horse and say
"oh well if the roles were reversed it would all be a different story , not fair!"
Do you realise you sound like:
"I'm upset because I cant abuse young girls" ?

reply

"I'm upset because I cant abuse young girls" ?

Abuse? No, I just want to sex with young girls, why all of sudden" sex" equal "abuse"? Why you think boy sex with older woman is "lucky him", girl sex with older man is "abuse"?

reply

Not at all.

Do you genuinely believe it's 'okay' for an adult woman to knowingly manipulate an underage boy? Do you genuinely believe that all underage boys want to sleep with their teachers? Heck, a lot of men and women have rape fantasies, that DOESN'T mean they actually want to be raped. In the case of the exploited child, it may only be after the act has occurred that they realise this isn't what they wanted.

All that aside, this isn't what this film is about anyway, because no adult in this film was *intentionally* exploiting a *child*. Susan had NO reasonable way of knowing that Josh was really a 13-year-old child.

reply

Honestly, if the situation were reversed, the male adult would still be innocent, because, like Susan, they couldn't possibly know the *apparent* adult they were sleeping with was in fact a 13-year-old child.

In this fantasy situation, there were two unfortunate victims, and no victimisers (unless we count Zoltar), and arguably the adult, Susan, was the biggest of the two victims because she'll be the one left feeling bad about her own actions, whereas Josh, the child, gets to happily get on with his life without any guilt.

You’re a virgin

reply

YOU DIED.

reply

I saw this as a kid and never noticed it until I saw it years later.

reply

Because the 13 year old kid was in a man’s body, and the woman never realized he was a kid (mentally) until the end. Biologically he was legal, and for the sake of the plot, consent laws are based on biology.

Also, there’s the female version, “13 Going On 30” starring Jennifer Garner. Nobody complained about that one either.

reply

in 13 Going On 30, Jennifer Garner doesn't have sex.

reply

But her boyfriend tries to get her to have sex when she doesn't want to, and she makes out with her grown-up childhood sweet heart. Snowflakes have complained louder for less.

reply

That is the difference and my point: Big has sex, 13 Going On 30 no sex.

reply

Magnus, I agree, she didn't know that he was mentally a kid but I have to disagree about the consent laws being based on biology. 18, or even 16/17 in some countries/states, is based on an arbitrary number. And it's an odd number to pick because you can't even buy alcohol at that age but you can die in a war. If it was really based on biology, somewhere between 12 and 14 would be the legal age of consent. That's when most people have at least started puberty.

I honestly don't give a rat's ass who people are sleeping with as long as no force, violence or any type of threats are being used. I remember when I was in high-school, I knew at least 6 girls that were sleeping with older guys. They were all in their 20's but one of them was in his early 30's.

Of course, it was a different time in history, people just didn't care that much about older/younger relations back in the day. You might actually say that people were more liberal back then than they are now.

reply

Underage sex is the no. 1 reason why people have relationship problems. It's like a drug they start doing at a young age. The younger you are when you start smoking the heavier a smoker you become. Thus, adults ruin their lives chasing after that one high they got out of their first couple of times. They're addicts without knowing it because they've been brainwashed into accepting it as normal.

>>>Underage sex is the no. 1 reason why people have relationship problems. <<<

I've always heard its financial reasons that cause the most divorces. People argue over money more often than they have affairs. So, where do you get your info from?

And so, people that started having sex in their teens become sex addicts? LOL!! okay, source again? Where did you hear this?

reply

Because Susan didn't *intentionally* exploit a 13-year-old boy. She had no way of knowing he was a actually a child. He looked like a 30-year-old Tom Hanks FFS.

If anything, Susan was the victim here, because she's going to be trauatised for the rest of her life after processing the fact she accidentally slept with a child.

I always like to imagine that they never had sex, seeing as we don't see them make out in the movie, although perhaps I'm being very naive.

Anyway, like I say, Susan didn't really do anything wrong, at least nothing she could possibly know to be 'wrong'. But she might need a lifetime of therapy to process her experience.

reply

Not true.

If a girl you met at bar ask you out, and you think: "she is in a bar, she must past 20." And you have sex, later you found out she is 16.

Even you can prove to judge the girl lie to you about her age, you will still go to jail.

reply

Tom Hanks looked about 30 in the film, and was working in a corporate role in a major toy company. This is hardly the same thing.

reply

Because it was a 30 year old's body and she had no way to know or expect the "spirit" of a 12 year old was there.
That doesn't happen in real life.
Plus men don't go out of their way to always claim they are a victim. Even if a woman 100% willingly has sex she may try and act "victimized" afterwards if he pestered her a lot to do it.

reply

Yes, I believe people will be OK with a movie depicts a 12 years old girl with a 30 years body sex with a 30 years old man.
