Love this film

Who, but the most jaded amongst us, couldn't, wouldn't, and didn't?

It's not a film of any great depth, by any means, but nor is it shallow. Tom Hanks does a superb job of playing a very believable kid who's suddenly turned into an adult, throughout, and is probably at his best at the cocktail party trying to figure out how to eat baby corn on the cob.

If you like witty comedy, magical realism, and Tom Hanks, I can't imagine Big failing anyone.

I agree. Great film. I loved the fantasy element to it and his experience as an adult. Almost makes you wish you could be a kid again

love it. i don't care that he's mentally twelve, he's got a beautiful woman in his apartment and he doesn't even react to it at all? what a clever yet simple story, i just thought of something, this movie would not go down well if the genders were reversed, would it? well, at least that spares us from a remake i guess. i know it's partly a drama, but the bits that are comedy are really funny, like the scenes between him and john heard, and her line to heard is hilarious "he's a grown up", she clearly becomes more like a supervisor to hanks than anything else, and when hanks friend start cursing and says "i'm three months older than you", what a weird, original movie, i forgot what a trip it was, well actually i didn't realise it since i was probably around 12 myself last time i saw it, it's like a "twilight zone" episode, hanks sure can pick great movies to star in, i recognise so many actors in this. spoiler, at the end of the movie she tells the kid to save her number for some future day, but it was him as mentally 12 she fell in love with, i wonder how he would develop and if she'd still like him as an adult. that's a sequel for you right there.
