Alternate ending?

Supposedly, there is an alternate ending where after Josh is turned back into a pre-teen, while he is in class, he turns around and notices a girl that looks like Susan. Thus, we are led to believe that Susan transformed herself to Josh's age.

A lot of people recall this ending in detail. It can't just be that everyone has a bad memory.

It was never planned, it was never discussed, it was never filmed! It's fan fiction.

Get over it!

We have to show the world that not all of us are like him: Henning von Tresckow.

Correct. People are remembering the ending to a different, made for TV Disney movie "14 going on 30" which came out at about the same time as Big. See this link, especially starting around 2:45:

Yup! I just watched the clip, and that is the ending that I have been thinking about for what I thought was the secret Big ending. The problem is that Disney Channel no longer airs their old movies, and most of them do not have a DVD release, so that is where our confusion stems from.

Shame I would have loved to see an alt ending like that in this movie. I supposed we can just settle for the other movie being the unofficial one for it though.

That wouldn't make any sense. Who would her parents be? How would she get enrolled in school? Would she really was to be a kid again, no guarantee she and Josh would end up together anyway?

She could transform herself to his age, but she still has her adult knowledge, so she could pretty easily track him down and just stroll into a class with him, it might take weeks or months or never for the school to figure out she forged something to get in there. It's not like school officials are going around thinking pre teen girls are sneaking into schools they don't belong in.

Now if we have that settled, let it be the idea for a sequel!

As far as I know, schools don't let kids wander in alone and register.

If they did that ending why ask those questions unless you want every movie ever made to be non-fiction? You could ask questions similar to that about lots of movies, it's called suspension of disbelief. Catherine Tramell explains it in Basic Instinct.

I think that ending would've been cool, be nice to see that they ended up together after all. And since it's a movie and not real it's okay to accept that she's there with him and it's a happy ever after movie.

It would feel like a cop out. For me while it does have a fantasy element it's grounded in reality and having her turn at the 32nd would open up so many questions. With Josh you knew where he lives and made a life for himself. Not enough time with Susan to do that.
