I can't believe how many people have no idea that this movie even exists
I am in my early 30s and I grew up with this great movie. Yes, it's weird since there's basically a scene where a child has sex with an adult, and it's totally outdated but, it's "Big"! It's a classic and Tom Hanks was so great in this. Honestly, when I think of Tom Hanks, I usually think of this as well as "The Money Pit", and "Sleepless in Seattle". Most younger people think of "Saving Private Ryan", and "Forrest Gump" when they hear Tom Hanks. They have no idea how funny and adorable he is capable of being.
At my job, I work with a lot of younger people between the ages of 19-25. I brought up this movie once and none of them had any idea what I was even talking about. I mentioned the scene with the big piano, and the zoltar machine and they still didn't know what it was. How is that possible? It's just crazy to me. I can understand why some 80s movie may be forgotten but, not this one, it's "Big", for crying out loud. It's a classic. I just can't believe how crazy this is. Of course, all of the people my age and older knew exactly what I was talking about and they couldn't believe how ridiculous it was that the younger people didn't know what it was either. It's just unbelievable.
