Did the demon keep a diary?

When Allan and Frank enter the locked room in the attic, Allan finds a diary where he reads something like:
"I know now that I am not alone. My visitors are coming. I can feel them".

Is it the demon's diary or what?
If it was a diary of a previous owner of the house, what was it doing in the locked room (the demon's room)? And why is it refering to vistors when it was only one demon in the house?
I'm guessing that it's the demon's diary and "the vistors" are the Eriksson family!

Any opinions?

And please spare me comments like "You're retarded", thank you!

Firstly, I'd like to tell you that you should put a spoiler-tag on your thread.

Normally I would be like "Uh, DUH!", but since you didn't want any of those I'll gladly answer this for you in a serious way.

SPOILERS:

The diary is of the previous owner, who perhaps did not know that there were just one demon in the house, how could the person possibly know so?

If it was the Demon's diary, then it would make the Demon a retard. How could a Demon living in the attic at first not be sure that there are people living in the house? Especially when 2 of those people are noisy kids. Why would a demon keep a journal, anyway? The book was used to scare the hell out of the audience, a previous owner writing about strange things happening in the house. It's very effective and one of the scariest parts of the film.

As for the place of the book and the other stuff, I reckon the demon took that up to the attic along with the painting (did you see that, BTW?).

Are you Swedish? If not, how did you get a hold of this movie with English subs?

Why do I think it's the demon who keeps a diary? Well, since the diary refer to vistors (pluralis) and there is only one demon. I'm also guessing the demon is living in his own dimension, not really knowing what's going on in his house and maybe being scared himself. You know, like the ghosts in "The Others".

I'm just rambling, I guess you're right.

I always fought it was the previous owners one, from a long long time ago.
He maybe escaped the House and locked it in and hide it, for some strange reason. Ore desperately tried to lock the Demon in? Either way he should have tried to escape right away, instead of writing a Diary. No need to try to warn others, since no one would believe him anyway.

We cant know for sure if it was only one Demon. Even if it seems highly possible. I always believed the Visitors, was refered as the Demons. Since they are the visitors of our (the livings) world.

Dawn of the Dead ´78 is the best movie ever.

Well, like I said, it would be impossible for the real people to know how many demon(s) there were. Besides, look at the painting in the attic, do you think the demon painted itself looking out the window? No, most likely the previous owner drew that after having a similar experience to what Frank had in the film.

Also, if the demon was living in his own dimension, why and how would it be able to spy on the family and doing all kinds of crazy *beep* & finally going apesh!t on Frank and the kids, let alone Allan? The demon knew what it was doing all along.

The painting is cool and eerie.
But I don't think the previous owner could have gotten such a good look of the demon and then live on to paint a picture of him. And if he did get such a good look of the demon and survived, why did he stay in the house to paint a picture of him? Death wishes?

So let's start a new thread: Who painted the picture?!?

Who knows? Standing outside the house (closer to where Frank was, of course), looking up and seeing the demon spying on him/her. Why the person didn't leave after seeing it? I guess the same can be said about the journal that the previous owner had, saying "I know I'm not alone".

When the owner painted the picture, the person maybe thought he/she was turning crazy, much like Frank in the beginning of the film.

well Actuly have you guys thought about that the "exorsist" could be the ghost of the previous owner?

I have not seen it in a while but, he do disepere into thin air when he dies (or somthing) or am I remembering it wrong?

The diary was written by a previous owner writing about yet another previous owner. The writer is trying to find out what happened to his predecessor.
