"Is he an angel, or a devil?"

The very final scene shows the Soviet soldier being rescued by a chopper. The two Afghanistan soldiers watch him. Do they say anything like:

"Is he an angel, or a devil?"

When I saw this flick long ago as a new release, I remember that line, and it defined the entire film for me. But now I watch it and they stay silent.

Anyone know?

when the Afghans finally destroy the tank, they wanted to kill the Russians but Koverchenko stopped them. So Taj tells him: "Are you an angel or a devil?" then Koverchenko gets rescued by the chopper
