just saw this for the first time.

Don't know why it took so long for me to watch this. It was on cable just now. It's a great movie. I'm a dude in my 30s. I love a lot of romantic comedy films and sappy stuff.

Great story. And yeah, I got choked up at the end.

A great story about friendship, and really makes me miss my old friends even more.

It's sad that as we get older, we just lose touch with friends... for no reason other than the simple fact that we get older.. some get married, some get absorbed into their careers, some raise kids, etc.

I don't think anything is more important in life than close friends & family, great music and great movies.

To paraphrase the Shawshank Redemption... "I guess I just miss my friend(s)."

I just saw this today for the first time. It's one of the most wonderful films I have ever seen. It was both funny and sad. And Bette Midler was amazing.

Another "first timer" here. I watched with my wife last week. She'd seen it a bunch of times. I'd heard from some buddies of mine over the years how "stupid" this movie was. You guessed it, they'd never actually SEEN it. Anyhoo, I was blown away. I too was reminded of old friends I hadn't seen in years. I once had a relationship with a woman that was similar to the one John and CC had. We cared for each other but she had much more ambition than I so it didn't last. Very poignant film. I got (spoiler alert) a lump in my throat and shed a few tears when Hillary died. My wife (who remember, had seen this many times before) was CRYING LIKE A BABY. Poor gal. Actually it was kinda nice, I hadn't held her like that (except after sex) in a long time.

I also just saw it for the first time. I have always liked the song "Wind Beneath My Wings". NTM, "From A Distance" and "The Rose" are my favorite BM songs. I thought the movie was a cute flick.
