80s Remakes

I often cringe at all of the released and upcoming re-makes of 80s horror classics, but American Gothic is the one film I would LOVE to see re-done by someone like Rob Zombie. This is one of the creepiest films ever made, but I feel it is hampered by being so outdated. Seeing this film with fresh eyes and in a modern setting would be incredibly scary, in my opinion.

i'd like to see a remake .. but not by Rob Zombie .. instead of the family on the island being a throwback to the 20's they would be poor white trash ...
