The rapists would've received the same sentence as they would've if they were tried and convicted. By making a deal, Kathryn removed any chance of acquittal. Most victims would be happy they don't have to go to court. The only downside is they pleaded guilty to a non-sexual charge. However, going to jail for any crime will ruin your life, and chances of employment.
