Deserves something around a 6.5 most certainly
good action and a decent story, and it got the balls to criticize here and and there.
Some of it still very actual today.
Its pretty funny now and then, and although grier may be a bit wasted she's still a great addition to it.
Sure there are some goofs and holes here and there but i somehow get the feeling that people are looking more closely cause its seagal. And no, im not a fan at all, just saying this one deserves alot more credit.

That might be one of the most intelligent statements I've ever seen written on IMDB. I can't believe people are dumb enough to only rate this movie a 5.1/10. I really can't see how Above The Law is not on at least equal par with the first Under Siege. Believe me, I definitely know that there are plenty of Seagal movies that deserve the rating that they get(especially Seagals movies in the past 5 years) but people are definitely discriminating against THIS movie because its a Seagal movie. Lets say Bruce Willis or Arnold Schwarzenegger had the starring role in Above The Law. Neither one of those guys would have done any better than Seagal did in Above The Law, but yet this movie may have at least had a IMDB rating in the 6.0s if either Bruce or Arnold were in this movie. I guarantee that! Instead because its a Seagal movie, its only a 5.1/10. Its sad but I guess thats just how it goes.

shareI agree, this is one of Seagal's best movies(if not the best).Actually most of his movies are underrated.I think this, Marked For Death, Out For Justice, Exit Wounds, Hard To Kill & Glimmer Man deserve at least a 6.0
