I read this today too. It may have played some role in the decision but the show really felt it had run its course by that time anyway.

Low ratings = imminent cancellation.

The show was cancelled due to tge sexual harassment charge the producers of the show got scared so they had to cancel the show i would have loved to see a season 7 in 1994

I remember the sexual harassment suit. A former employee claimed she had been sexually harassed by Fred Savage and friends who drilled a hole in the wall next to her changing room. After some publicity, in which it was felt she was lying or exaggerating, the lawsuit was settled out of court. A while later, though, it was revealed there had been an earlier sexual harassment complaint filed against Fred Savage and friends that had been quietly settled. Considering the types of individuals you are talking about - young teenagers with all the immaturity, insensitivity, and foolishness that goes with that age - I would not be surprised if there had been sexual misconduct.

I was stunned to hear this. At the time the tabloids were simply saying Fred Savage wanted to quit so he could have a normal high school senior year. I thought, what a cheat to the viewers--we all longed to see Kevin and his friends graduate high school! You'd think the tabloids would have jumped on something like a sexual harassment claim. I can't believe, if this is true, that they let the show end because of this. Shouldn't they have had insurance and lawyers they could call on rather than canceling the show and disappointing millions of loyal viewers not to mention putting the cast and crew out of work?

Keep in mind this was before #MeToo, and incidents were brushed under the carpet. Hopefully there has been an industry reset to both this behavior, and its reporting. But we also have to be cautious of false claims (See: #DukeLacrosse).

People who knew Fred and Jason Hervey, who was also accused, said accusations against both boys were absolutely false which I believe. The show should never have been canceled.
